MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia
Everything you need for MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia, July 10–14, 2026 — from Citizens Bank Park transit to the Red Carpet Show at Independence Mall. An insider's guide from The Philly Curator.
Baseball's Midsummer Classic is heading to Citizens Bank Park for the first time since the ballpark opened in 2004 — and it's landing right in the thick of Philadelphia's Semiquincentennial summer.
From Friday, July 10 through Tuesday, July 14, the city turns into a five-day celebration of baseball, history, and everything in between. This is the fifth time Philadelphia has hosted the All-Star Game, following legendary showings in 1943, 1952, 1976, and 1996 — but the first time it's happening at "The Bank."
The Schedule At A Glance
Friday, July 10 — HBCU Swingman Classic, Citizens Bank Park (gates 5 p.m., first pitch 7 p.m.)
Saturday, July 11 — MLB Draft opens at the Pennsylvania Convention Center; Capital One All-Star Village opens (runs through July 14)
Sunday, July 12 — All-Star Futures Game followed by MLBx 3-on-3, Citizens Bank Park
Monday, July 13 — T-Mobile Home Run Derby, Citizens Bank Park (8 p.m.)
Tuesday, July 14 — All-Star Red Carpet Show, Independence Mall (2 p.m.); MLB All-Star Game, Citizens Bank Park (gates 5 p.m., coverage on FOX at 7 p.m., first pitch 8 p.m.)
The Venue: Citizens Bank Park
Citizens Bank Park sits in South Philly's Sports Complex, right alongside the Linc and Wells Fargo Center — which means if you've followed our FIFA guide, you already know this neighborhood. Same transit line, same logic, different sport.
Getting There
Read this blog for details on How to Get to Every MLB All-Star Week Event Without a Car — The Philly Curator
Take the Broad Street Line. This is genuinely the easiest ballpark commute in the Northeast. Ride the Orange Line/Broad Street Line southbound to its final stop, NRG Station, at Broad & Pattison — about a 5–10 minute walk to the gates. On event days, SEPTA runs Sports Express trains direct from Center City stops like City Hall and Walnut-Locust, cutting the ride to roughly 20 minutes. A round trip runs about $6, versus $35+ to park.
Driving? Expect to pay $35–$60 prepaid (more if the Eagles or Sixers happen to have anything going on nearby, which is unlikely in July but always worth a glance). Lots K and M on the north side are the closest walk to the home plate gate. I-95 and the Walt Whitman Bridge feed directly into the complex if you're coming from Jersey or Delaware.
Rideshare pickup and drop-off is a designated zone on Pattison Avenue, marked by stadium signage. Post-game waits run 15–25 minutes; walking a block or two away from the immediate perimeter before requesting a ride will save you real time.
Where to Stay
Since activities are in center city and Citizen Bank Park, you have options:
CENTER CITY/OLD CITY
If you want to be based in the heart of the city with easy access to the Convention Center and the stadium, then Center City or Old City puts you on the Broad Street Line with easy access to both ends of the week's events.
Given that All-Star Week draws a lot of day-trippers from the suburbs and Jersey rather than the international crowds we saw for FIFA, expect it to feel a little more like a big regional weekend than a global takeover — plan hotel bookings accordingly, as rooms will still move fast.
SOUTH PHILLY
If you want to be close to the action at Citizen Bank Park, look at hotels near the Navy Yard or South Philly proper — a short hop to the Sports Complex.
What Else To Do
Capital One All-Star Village
(Pennsylvania Convention Center, July 11–14)
An indoor fan festival with interactive games, meet-and-greets with baseball legends, and a taste of ballpark food. Think of it as this event's answer to our Fan Fest coverage — plan a couple of hours here, more if you've got kids in tow.
All-Star Red Carpet Show
(Independence Mall, July 14 2pm)
This is the one made for us. Players arrive on the red carpet steps from Independence Mall before heading to the ballpark, putting baseball's biggest stars steps from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Get there early for a spot along the Mall, and consider folding this into a Semiquincentennial-themed morning — you're already standing in the middle of it.
The MLB Draft
(Pennsylvania Convention Center, July 11)
Free and open to the public in the Grand Hall. A low-key, high-value stop if you're already at the Village.
Home Run Derby
(Citizens Bank Park, July 13, 8 p.m.)
The single most purchase-worthy ticket of the week if you only do one ballpark event. Arrives with a different energy than the game itself — louder, looser, more of a show.
Food & Neighborhoods
The food scene is Philadelphia is top notch! Take my advice…skip the cheesesteaks and try an Italian BYOB for the best experience. East Passyunk and the Italian Market are a short trip from the Sports Complex and worth the detour for a pre- or post-game meal that isn't stadium food.
If you're staying closer to Independence Mall for the Red Carpet Show, Old City and Society Hill give you walkable, historic-adjacent dining without needing to go far. The possibilities are vast.
Inside the Sports Complex itself, Stateside Live! and the surrounding bars are the default landing spot for a crowd wanting to keep the energy going after a game — good for groups, not necessarily for a quiet night.

The Bigger Picture
All-Star Week isn't happening in isolation — it's one marquee stop in a summer where Philadelphia is also hosting the PGA Championship, the U.S. Amateur Golf Championship, UFC 330, and the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, all tied to the city's 250th anniversary moment. If you're building a trip around baseball, it's worth knowing you've landed in the middle of one of the biggest sports-and-history convergences this city has ever hosted.
